National Databank: help people get connected with free mobile data

What is the National Databank?

The National Databank is an initiative by Good Things Foundation. Like a food bank but for mobile data, it provides free mobile SIM cards for people who can't afford internet connectivity. These data packages are kindly donated by Good Things' partners Virgin Media O2, Vodafone and Three.

Members of the National Digital Inclusion Network can apply for and distribute these mobile SIM cards for people in their local communities through the National Databank.

**The National Databank is now closed for new applications and will open again on Monday 6th January 2025.**

How does the National Databank work for Network members?

1. Virgin Media O2, Vodafone and Three regularly donate mobile data SIM cards to Good Things Foundation.

2. Members of the National Digital Inclusion Network can apply for free SIM cards anytime, subject to a few due diligence checks.

3. Good Things distribute the SIM cards to successful applicants.

4. People in your community who are experiencing data poverty or living on a low income can pick up a free mobile SIM card from you.

To be eligible to receive free mobile data, the person you’re supporting must:

- Be 18+ years old AND from a low income household

- Not have access to the internet, or the means to pay for data or a broadband package
