What is the AI Gateway?
As Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming how we interact with the world online, it is creating a new layer of digital exclusion. In the UK, 72% of adults lack confidence using AI in daily life.
To help tackle this challenge, we created the AI Gateway.
Developed by Good Things in partnership with Accenture, the AI Gateway is a free, interactive online learning platform built specifically to demystify artificial intelligence. Just like Learn My Way, it breaks down complex ideas into bite-sized, jargon-free learning, giving your community members the confidence and critical thinking skills needed to navigate a changing digital landscape safely and responsibly.
What topics can your learners explore?
The AI Gateway features friendly, plain-language modules that answer the practical, everyday questions your beneficiaries are facing:
AI Literacy basics
Breaking down complex ideas in simple explanations to help you understand what artificial intelligence is, how it works, how it's transforming the world around us and the challenges it presents.
Evaluating AI generated content and recognising deepfakes
Developing the skills and understanding needed to think critically about AI outputs, including practical tips for spotting deepfakes or AI-generated images.
Practical everyday benefits
Exploring how AI can positively support daily tasks and how to craft clear prompts, improving results, and understanding how different details influence the output.
Safety, scams & privacy boundaries
Understanding data privacy boundaries, recognising potential misinformation, and learning when to trust AI recommendations.
Why use the AI Gateway at your hub?
The AI Gateway is designed to fold seamlessly into your existing digital inclusion provisions, providing an intuitive framework for staff, volunteers, and Digital Champions.
- Zero-barrier access: There are no steep learning curves or complicated sign-up loops. It is open, inviting, and free for anyone to use.
- Bite-sized & adaptive: Short, 5-to-10-minute interactive modules let your community members learn at their own pace, making it perfect for both structured workshops and informal drop-in sessions.
- Promotes critical media literacy: The platform doesn't just show people how to use Generative AI tools - it teaches them how to evaluate them, helping them spot deepfakes, identify AI-generated text, and protect their data privacy.
The AI Gateway is just one of the ways we empower grassroots organisations to tackle digital exclusion. By signing up to become a member of the National Digital Inclusion Network, you gain access to exclusive tools and support to help you build your own understanding, develop your knowledge of AI and integrate it into your operations.
