Get involved with Digital For All: Good Things’ latest campaign
Digital For All is a national campaign raising awareness of digital exclusion and the transformative impact getting access to digital has on people. Here's how you can get involved.
On March 1st, Good Things Foundation is launching Digital For All, a national campaign raising awareness of digital exclusion. Considering the UK has its sights set on becoming a tech superpower, Good Things are posing the question: we’re all for digital, so shouldn’t digital be for all? Everyone should be able to access and use digital safely, confidently and affordably.
The campaign will run for the whole of March, drawing attention to digital exclusion: what it is, the reality that it affects millions of people in the UK, and the free digital services that digitally excluded people can access across the nation.
Real stories of digital inclusion are the foundation of Digital For All. Good Things are sharing impactful stories from people supported by the National Digital Inclusion Network, shining a spotlight on the transformative power of digital inclusion made possible through the local digital support you provide to your communities.
Here’s five ways you can get involved in Digital For All!
1. Enter the #MakingDigitalForAll social media competition
This competition is exclusive for Network members.Get posting on social media and share how you’re making digital a reality for all; what digital inclusion means to you and your community; a specific inspirational story; and/or a photo of your digital inclusion services in action!
To enter the competition, all you need to do is:
1. Use X (Twitter), Facebook or Instagram to share your story.
2. Tag Good Things Foundation on X and Instagram @goodthingsfdn, and on Facebook @Good Things Foundation
3. Use the hashtag #MakingDigitalForAll - this is important, as it’s your virtual competition entry ticket!
There will be a weekly draw with 4 £50 Amazon vouchers up for grabs! Good Things will randomly select one winner on March 8th, 15th, 22nd and 28th. Full details of the competition can be found in the campaign social media pack.
2. Find a Digital For All billboard near you!
Yes, there’s billboards! We’re really excited to be launching billboards nationally from March 1st-29th, found on major city roadsides and city centres. The billboards feature Sam, Victoria and Julie: real people whose lives have been positively impacted after getting digital support from Network member, Learn For Life Enterprise. We’re really grateful for their willingness and enthusiasm to share their stories with the nation.
Check out Good Things’ billboard map and see if there’s one near you - why not snap a picture with it and post it on social media using the hashtag #DigitalForAll!
3. Share Digital For All social media templates
Good Things have prepared some campaign social media templates so that you can easily help spread the word: digital should be for all. Download the social media pack for tips and guidance!
Note: these shouldn’t be used for your entry into the social media competition! We want your competition posts to be your own stories of digital inclusion.
4. Invite your MP to visit your Hub
Being a member of the National Digital Inclusion Network means you’re part of the movement influencing digital inclusion at a national level, advocating for change and fixing the digital divide.
Good Things work tirelessly to build relationships with key decision makers and raise digital inclusion up the political agenda. We encourage you to invite your MP to visit your Hub and see how you’re making digital a reality for all!
Not sure how to find your MP’s contact details? Simply enter your postcode into the UK Parliament's Find Your MP tool.
5. Display posters and flyers to reach more people
Increase awareness of your digital inclusion services by printing and displaying these new posters and flyers in your hub or around your community, showcasing how you're making digital a reality for all!
No matter how you choose to get involved with Digital For All, we want to say thank you for your ongoing hard work to fix the digital divide. Without you, we wouldn’t be able to share these fantastic stories or show the scale of digital inclusion support across the UK.
