Celebrating Digital Inclusion Hubs: Hub of the Month
We're celebrating the hard work of the National Digital Inclusion Network by nominating a Hub of the Month every month.
March's Hub of the Month is…
Equality and Inclusion Partnership (EQuIP)
EQuIP is an independent Charitable Incorporated Organisation with a vision of a place where everyone embraces difference and diversity, ensures opportunity, eradicates inequality of treatment and operates in a fair environment for all. EQuIP was established in 2016 and has built on the work of its predecessor organisation, WREP, the Warwickshire Race Equality Partnership, over the previous decade. EQuIP works towards the elimination of discrimination across all protected groups, as defined by the Equality Act 2010. It has a long-standing relationship with Warwickshire County Council, as well as with borough and District Councils, and key public and voluntary organisations, working in partnership across the county while maintaining its independence.
Over the past two years, EQuIP has been a vital force in supporting asylum seeker and refugee families across Warwickshire. By focusing on those transitioning into independent living. EQuIP provides the essential practical, social, and digital tools needed for a successful start in the UK.
Their model is built on deep community trust, powered by a dedicated network of over 70 volunteers. Many of these volunteers have lived experience of resettlement themselves, fostering an environment of unique cultural understanding. As a member of the National Databank, EQuIP has proven their capacity to reach the most digitally excluded, successfully distributing 796 SIM cards in the last year alone. Through their combination of community drop-ins, ESOL classes, and secure equipment management, EQuIP is helping newly settled families build the confidence and independence they need for long-term stability.
A massive congratulations to Equality and Inclusion Partnership, and thank you for all your hard work to fix the digital divide.
